Travis Fossing

Travis Fossing joined the KELOLAND news team as co-anchor of KELOLAND This Morning in October 2020, but isn’t a new addition to the newsroom.  Travis spent more than 13 years as sports director (2000-2007 & 2014-2020) before making the move from late nights to early mornings.

Travis grew up in Windom, Minnesota, playing baseball, basketball, and football, while also participating in school plays.  He’s a Minnesota sports fan, though his patience with the Vikings is wearing thin.

He attended Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, Minnesota, graduating with a degree in radio & television broadcasting, before starting his television career as an intern at KELO-TV in 1998.  Travis was named sports director in October 2000, and won Associated Press Sportscast of the Year three times over the next seven years.  After spending six years in Minnesota, Travis made the move back to Sioux Falls, where he resumed his role as sports director at KELOLAND Media Group in February 2014.

After covering a Super Bowl, NCAA Tournaments, an Iditarod, and thousands of college and high school sporting events, Travis is excited to be part of the news team at KELOLAND Media Group.

Travis is married to his college girlfriend, Krissy.  Their son, Lincoln, was born in 2008.  The Fossing family, including miniature dachshund, Penny, enjoys camping, attending sporting events, and spending time with extended family.  Every day is a new adventure!
